Brian
Tarallo grew up developing black and white portraits in his father's
basement darkroom. His commercial photographs and graphic designs
have appeared in several local and national periodicals, including
the
Arizona
Republic
and Sunset Magazine. He has photographed a variety of subjects
across five continents, but since coming to
Arizona
in 2004, his work has captured images from
Tempe
,
Phoenix
, Jerome, and Sedona. Three major themes dominate his photographs:
architectural details, portraits from life, and close-up macro
photography.
Architectural
Details: From the monolithic stone cathedrals of southern France to
the abandoned iron gates of Jerome, from the intricate stucco
designs of western Spain to the tiled walls of Tlaquepaque,
photographs of architectural details inspire the imagination by
focusing the eye on hand-hewn, often-overlooked details.
Portraits
from Life: A half-step between posed sittings and candid snapshots,
portraits from life are impromptu images that naturally capture
human emotions. Portraits from life reveal the connection between
sisters, the love of a mother and child, the anticipation of a
bride-to-be, and the thoughtful reflection of partners of many
years.
Close-up
Macro Photography: Macro, or extreme close-up, photography reveals a
world hidden beneath the everyday visible. Stained glass, stones,
bronzework, cactus, and flowering plants become powerful images.
Brian’s macro photographs capture tangible textures, solid forms,
strong lines, natural patterns, delicate shapes, and intense colors.
Brian offers
several services to the public, including home and garden
photography and in-home family portraits from life. He recently
retired his Canon AE-1 Program and now shoots with a Canon EOS 30D.
